"'Our approach is founded on sound science, and on trying to address, with different strategies, climate change,' said Paula J. Dobriansky, undersecretary of state for global affairs."
"Sound science" here is double-speak, meaning "unsound science" -- to disparage and disregard scientific results unless they provide definitive, overwhelming evidence (and perhaps even then), or unless they support a position that the Administration likes.
"Sound science" has become a catch phrase for the Administration.
