ICSU in Science - Strategy Development
The International Council for Science (ICSU) has published a foresight study, as well as a review of national foresight studies on this webpage. The ICSU study emphasized: ‘Emerging’ Scientific Issues ("NANOTECHNOLOGY," "MOLECULAR BIOSCIENCES," "NATURAL AND MAN-MADE HAZARDS," "COMPLEX SYSTEMS SCIENCE," and "COGNITIVE NEUROSCIENCES"); Human-Environment Interactions ("GLOBAL CHANGE AND EARTH SYSTEM SCIENCE," "SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT," "WATER," "ENERGY," "HUMAN HEALTH," "AGRICULTURE, FOOD, AND NUTRITION," and "BIODIVERSITY"); and Cross-Cutting Scientific Issues ("DATA, INFORMATION, AND THE DIGITAL DIVIDE," "CAPACITY BUILDING AND INVESTMENT IN BASIC SCIENCE," and "SCIENCE, SOCIETY, AND ETHICS").
