A new way to annoy racists promoting eugenics

The BBC today has a story about a major study reported in Science:
The work revealed the continent (Africa) to be the most genetically diverse place on Earth, and identified descendents of our earliest human ancestors.
Think about crop improvement research. Modern crops varieties have a very narrow genetic base. Breeding efforts are based on finding ways to breed needed properties into crops to provide disease resistance, resistance to stress, and other desired properties. To do so, they depend on the finding properties in the seed banks based on other cultivars, but increasingly they return to the center of origin of the crop since it is there that one is likely to find the greatest genetic diversity.

The cited research adds to the information that the center of origin of Homo sapiens is Africa, and it is there that we will find the greatest genetic diversity within our species.

We know that the farther humans moved from Africa the more likely that the emigrating population would pass through genetic bottlenecks. Thus Australian aborigines, Patagonian native Americans, and Northern Europeans, while they may have selected for adaptive genes are also likely to have little genetic diversity within their individual groups.

If we were seeking to use the techniques of crop breeders to improve the human race we would no doubt seek to transfer African genes into European populations.

Isn't that great news! Think how it will annoy white racists!
