John Wooden's Pyramid of Success
UCLA's great basketball coach, who died recently, had an impact on me and I suspect all of the university's students and alum.

Once about Knowledge and knowledge systems, especially knowledge applied to economic development, but since I retired branching into politics, music and whatever catches my attention.

I read some of his books, and I always admired him. Sadly, there are few coaches today that exhibit the strong values that John Wooden had. the last one that comes to mind is Dean Smith. The prototypical coach today is John Calipari - who seems to leave a trail of scandal everywhere he goes. I have enjoyed over the last few days seeing all the commentary about John Wooden. it is interesting to think about how we would like to be remembered upon our death. John Wooden is the ideal.
