A Surprising Secret to a Long Life: Stay in School - New York Times

A Surprising Secret to a Long Life: Stay in School - New York Times:

"The one social factor that researchers agree is consistently linked to longer lives in every country where it has been studied is education. It is more important than race; it obliterates any effects of income."

Check out the interesting graph, which does show that poor countries increase life expectancy as they increase average education level.

What I found surprising, however, is that countries that have already reached an average of seven to ten years of education per person have widely varying life expectancies, and do not seem to increase life expectancy over time as they increase average education levels.
