Hope from the gut of the termite
The Atlantic also has an article noting that scientists have identified some 500 enzymes from the gut of the termite that help in the transformation of cellulose into sugars. If researchers can find a way to utilize these or similar enzymes in the production of biofuels it could make a real contribution to the solution of the fuel supply problems.
