Ben Goldacre: Battling Bad Science

"Every day there are news reports of new health advice, but how can you know if they're right? Doctor and epidemiologist Ben Goldacre shows us, at high speed, the ways evidence can be distorted, from the blindingly obvious nutrition claims to the very subtle tricks of the pharmaceutical industry."

There is a movement in international development to depend more on randomized trials for evaluation of development techniques/innovations. People who believe it is easy to do a good randomized trial, or that the results of randomized trials (especially as presented by those who would manipulate opinion) are to be ascribed high levels of confidence should watch this presentation a couple of times!
