A Map of Rates of Clinical Depression

Note the bright red colored countries include a lot of those that have been through recent revolutions, wars or other disruptions. Clinical depression seems to follow real problems in survival.

I am not sure what accounts for the dark blue countries -- perhaps some under diagnosis? Things are very good in Australia, but Bolivia, Mexico and Ethiopia?
