What Americans Believe About Climate Change is Related to Geography


However, it may be more related to where liberals live and where conservatives live than to what the local climate or weather is like.

In 2014, 64 percent of U.S. adults thought that global warming was happening while 18 percent thought not, and the rest didn't know.. (Check the Yale Project on Climate Change Communication website for a map)

Until Americans start believing the consensus of scientists, it is going to be hard to get them to take serious action on reducing greenhouse gas emissions, or to negotiate seriously on international efforts to reduce global warming.
