Hollywood Stars Find an Audience For Social Causes - washingtonpost.com
I observed this phenomenon firsthand when I worked in the White House. I think it is unfortunate, in that Hollywood stars are not necessarily very knowledgeable about public affairs (I don't know any of course). It would be better if professors were the media stars and the ones that get the politicians out, since they are probably more often worth listening to. Still, it is good to see those who can get media attention, often more than they want, using it to direct concern at worthy causes.
