Curious Coincidence

There were two Brazilians with strong qualifications interested in the post of Director General of UNESCO, but the Brazilian Government in May chose not to nominate a Brazilian announcing support for the Egyptian candidate. We now read that the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Egypt is arriving in Brazilian to discuss possible commercial relations between the two countries with Brazilian President Lula, and that President Mubarak will visit Brazil later this year. The latter announcement also included an Egyptian invitation to the Brazilians to involve themselves in the Israeli-Palestinian peace process.
